Perform at your best - when it matters most
Success or failure can hinge on how we perform in critical moments. What if we could access our ‘best selves’ consistently in those key moments?
Performance on Command is a powerful performance methodolgy that enables people to consistently access the best version of themselves. No matter how high the stakes or how intense the pressure feels.
Have you ever left an important ‘moment’ knowing you were capable of more?
Maybe it was an important client pitch, a career-defining interview, a complex negotiation or a meeting with senior people. But somehow you left feeling like you could have done better.
We have all had those moments. For many of us, it is in those high-stakes moments where we fail to perform at the level that we are capable of.
You knew what to say.
You were prepared.
You were capable.
Yet afterwards, you felt you hadn't shown people what you were truly capable of.
The challenge wasn't capability.
The challenge was being able to access your capability when it mattered most.
Performance on Command helps professionals perform with greater confidence, clarity and consistency in the moments that shape careers and business outcomes.
Why capable people underperform
You already have the knowledge, experience and capability.
The challenge is being able to consistently access them when it matters most. Because pressure changes:
how you think
how you communicate
how you react
how you perform
and how the people you are seeking to convince respond to you.
This challenge rears its unwelcome head in key moments such as:
presentations
interviews
leadership conversations
negotiations
difficult conversations
public speaking
sales meetings
Why most performance training falls short
Most people focus on improving capability.
More knowledge.
More training
More experience.
While, of course, capability is important. It doesn’t guarantee greater performance in key moments where important decisions get made.
Because under pressure, your ability to access that capability diminishes.
The difference between your best and worst performance is often not about what you know.
It’s the ‘State’ you are functioning in during these key moments.
Performance is state-dependent
The same person can appear
confident in one situation and hesitant in others
articulate with some people and tongue-tied with others
calm in their comfort zone and overwhelmed when under the spotlight
Not because their capability has decreased.
But because their state changed.
State affects
how you think
how you communicate verbally and non verbally
your confidence in the moment
your decision making
your influence
When you learn to manage your state, you gain more consistent access to your capability
Your state shapes your performance
Capability
You already have more capability than you can consistently demonstrate.
Pressure
But pressure affects how you think, communicate, decide and perform.

What is a state?
A state is the combination of thoughts, emotions, physiology and attention that influences how you perform in a given moment.
When your state changes, your performance changes.
The challenge is not becoming someone different.
The challenge and opportunity is becoming the best version of yourself, consistently, and when the stakes are high.
Performance on Command teaches practical techniques for rapidly creating the states that support confidence, clarity, influence and composure when you need them.

Built in high-stakes environments
Before becoming a performance coach, I spent more than 20 years leading sales, transformation and commercial teams within organisations including Avanade, Fujitsu, Capgemini and Ernst & Young.
Throughout that time, I became fascinated by a simple question:
‘Why do some people rise to the occasion while others struggle to show what they're capable of?’
Because I had seen both.
In myself, in sales teams and in senior leaders.
Often, in some of the most talented people I worked with. The most capable person was not always the best performer.
People who were intelligent, experienced and highly capable would sometimes underperform in the moments that mattered most.
Not because they lacked ability.
But because they couldn't consistently access it.
Today, Performance on Command combines decades of real-world commercial experience with modern performance psychology to help capable professionals perform with greater confidence, clarity and consistency when it matters most.
